Kjome discusses early life in Minnesota; World War II and its effect on women; nurses training; nurse missionary work in South Africa, where she observed race relations and social conditions; medical care; and her nursing career at La Crosse, Wisconsin's Lutheran Hospital, where she became involved in continuing education and in-service training.
